We designed these Drum Sounds from the ground up using a mix of live recorded drums and drums sampled from records to give you that authentic Hip Hop feel. We then tweaked, layered and come up with some interesting ways to process the sounds while keeping it true to the Boombap essence everyone loves. During the making of the drums we used the legendary Akai MPC 3000 & Ensoniq ASR-10 for our samplers and sequencers. Some of the outboard gear we used was the Elysia MusEq with its beautiful "warm mode", the Elysia Nvelop & Xpressor Compressor to add tightness and punch along with the Karacter for added saturation when needed. We also used the Empirical Labs Distressors with the British Mod to create the famous "NY Compression" that we then printed and tinkered with in the box. This pack was one we loved creating, we hope you have as much fun with the sounds as we did making them.
